Man oh man! Another two hardware failures.
The Hard disk WD600BB had a mechanical failure and has been successfully backed up. I replaced it with a mint conditioned WD800BB and transfered the data. No loss occured. Also, the motherboard has died. I have then put the whole system in a Dell Precision workstation since the IDE controller card I had ordered has finally arrived. Let's hope this works out! |

Man oh man! Some shit happened. OK here's the deal.
Sometime in October I guess some server software required an OS update. However, the OS could not be installed due to whatever errors. In december we put the server out of service, as software and hardware installments were not sufficient for what we wanted to keep doing with it. So we had to upgrade. December 27, I received the server and began working on it. Our desired platform, however, did not want to install the operating system. Few days later I ordered new hardware (ASUS A7V133). It came three weeks later due to the postage service repeatedly failing at delivery without even notifying me. Now I got the server to work (kind of). And the FTP software continuously managed to mess up the operating system. So, I kind of got it to work, started every server (HTTP, SQL, FTP, 2xSRCDS) and went to bed (that was 2 days ago). Noises woke me up at 6:45: The SCSI HDD made clicking noises and zip zip zip etc.... Today I managed, thanks to GerbilSoft's help, to back up the data and (re) install the system. I got another FTP to work and yeah well right now i'm installing some updates and the server works just fine. Enjoy! Oerg866 |

Well, we've reached 4 days uptime without any issues, the server's going strong and does not look bad at all so far! The HL2DM server is having a few slight problems (After a while all players lose connection and you can't reconnect/ping until the server's restarted...)

The server's installation is almost done and the server is standing in its place. The OS is installed, FPT/HTTP/VNC are ready. During the next days I will put up the site and install some game servers...
